Bravettes wrestling 2nd at home tournament, Billings Senior wins title

Billings Senior bested Flathead and the 28 other teams who made the trip to Kalispell for the Flathead Girls Invitational Saturday.

The Broncs picked up victories in three weight classes and placed six more in the top three. Senior finished with 286.5 points with Flathead at 245, Ronan finished third at 200.

The Bravettes picked up a pair of weight class wins with Bella Downing claiming the title at 115 and Julia Kay at 130. Kiera Lackey added a second-place finish at 135.

Katelyn Sphuler picked up a third-place finish to lead the Wolfpack, who finished with 57.5 points.

"Resiliency played a large part in our more successful day two, looking to build on the momentum going into next week," Wolfpack assistant coach Mitchell Zander said.

Ronan’s River Cote got the win at 110 with a pin, and the Maidens got a trio of third place finishes from Amanda Webster (120), Leona Dodson Howe (155) and Seattle Adams (235).

Whitefish’s Taylor Dorvall earned a third-place finish at 130 with a pin of Mission’s Amelia Cronk.

Columbia Falls got a pair of fifth place finishes for Jaelynn Nace (110) and Hailey Littlefield (235).
