Betty Jellison, 83, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Dec. 1, 2024, in Kalispell.

Born on Aug. 8, 1941, in Eureka, Betty graduated from Flathead High School in Kalispell in 1959. She later attended the University of Montana, where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. Betty married the love of her life, Bruce Jellison, on Aug. 12, 1961. The couple moved to El Centro, California, where Bruce was stationed with the Air Force. With limited activities available in the desert, Betty took flying lessons and achieved her solo flight on Dec. 8, 1963, at Imperial Airport.

Their journey took them to Minneapolis in 1964, then to Van Nuys, California in 1966, where they began their family. They eventually settled in Somers, where they raised their children, Bob and Barbara. Betty worked as a bookkeeper for the Forest Service and later for The Computer Place, contributing to the community while enjoying time with her family. Betty particularly enjoyed water skiing and perfected it to the point where only her toes would get wet by step starting from the beach and grabbing the diving board upon returning to the dock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Baker and Opal Baker Stevens; her brother, Donald Baker, his wife Ardis Baker, and their son Darron; her brother-in-law, Hubert McKenzie; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Jellison; her children, Bob Jellison, his wife Rhonda and Barbara Jellison Quall, her husband Chuck; her cherished grandchildren, Allie Jellison, Madelaine Jellison, Blake Quall and Kendall Quall; her sister, Bonnie McKenzie and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Betty will be forever missed and remembered for her kind heart, keen sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and devotion to her faith, family and friends.

A family and friend's memorial service will be held at Immanuel Living at Buffalo Hill Terrace, in the auditorium room, on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. with a reception to immediately follow.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Foundation at Immanuel Foundation.org.
