Harlan Peter Bruns, 94

Harlan Peter Bruns, 94, of Kalispell passed away at Logan Health Medical Center on Oct. 12, 2024. He was born in Olivia, Minnesota, on Sept. 14, 1930, to Harm and Annie Bruns. He grew up with one sister, Grace in the rural Minnesota. He joined the Marines in 1952. 

Harlan married Shirley Winkelmann on Aug. 26, 1954, and had three children, Debra, Mandy and Byron. After several summer vacations to the Flathead area, the family moved to Kalispell in June 1971.

Harlan married Linda Clark-Moschetti on April 3, 1987. They spent 37 happy years together. 

Harlan worked for McElroy & Wilkin until he retired in 1995. He enjoyed family gatherings and visits, gardening, picnics, reading Louie L’Amour books and any reason to use his John Deere tractor. He loved his family dearly, always putting them first. He was kind, gentle, caring and giving.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Debra (Gary) Struck; Mandy Foster (Jeff, deceased) and Byron (Cindy) Bruns; Linda’s children, Nick (Tavia) Moschetti and Kelly (Tom) Murphy; 12 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren; nephews, Eldon (Carol) Aalderks, Ken (Marylynn) Aalderks, Leon (Luann) Aalderks and Roger (Mary) Aalderks all of Minnesota.

A family service will be held next spring.
