| December 15, 2024 12:00 AM

Sara Elizabeth Hunnicutt, 46, born on April 5, 1978, in Elk Grove Village, Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Nov. 27, 2024, in Kalispell. Her life was a testament to her dedication to family, career, and a passion for the outdoors.

She graduated from Bigfork High School and pursued higher education at Montana State University, where she earned a master's degree in accounting. Her professional career was marked by her roles as an accountant and auditor for several esteemed local companies, including Plum Creek, Logan Health, Dermatology Associates, and Glacier Bank.

Sara was admired for her cheerful demeanor, radiant smile, and love of laughter. She loved to strike up conversations with those around her, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her greatest joy was being a devoted mother to her children, Cole and Cadence. She cherished every moment with them, finding immense happiness in their presence. Sara’s world revolved around making memories with her Cole Bear and Cady Bug. Many of those memories were made during family vacations to Maui, soaking up the sun, playing on the beach, learning to surf together, and daily visits to the Hawaiian Shave Ice stand. Her love for her children was shown through support and involvement. Whether it was shouting encouragement from the sidelines at Cadence’s soccer and volleyball games or working to develop Cole’s talent and gifting at the piano keyboard, Sara’s love was defined by the time she spent with them.

Sara's love for the outdoors and fitness was evident in her active lifestyle, which included skiing, water skiing, surfing, fishing, rafting, CrossFit, and yoga.

She is survived by her beloved children, Cole and Cadence; their father, Brad Hunnicutt; her mother, Carla; stepfather, Sam; father, Jim; brother, Craig; in-laws, Ted and Teresa; nieces, Rachel, Raegan, and Avery; her aunt and uncle, Larry and Sara Martin; and cousin, Inga.

Sara will forever be remembered as a beacon of positivity and love. Sara Elizabeth Hunnicutt will be as fiercely missed as she was loved. Sara will never be forgotten, and we will carry memories of her beautiful, infectious smile and laughter with us wherever we go.

The family will be planning a celebration of life to be held at a future date.
