| December 18, 2024 12:00 AM

Thomas H. Krustangel, 81, passed away peacefully on Dec. 11, 2024, at his home with his loving wife by his side.

Born on Jan. 24, 1943, in New York, New York, to Frank and Helen Krustangel, Tom led an extraordinary life full of innovation and adventure. He was married to his devoted wife, Carol, for 62 wonderful years.

Throughout his life, Tom owned and operated several successful businesses. He founded Washington’s first organic fruit orchard, became a regional producer of apple cider and frozen juice products, and pioneered large-scale manufacturing of produce-processing machinery for home and small-scale needs. Later in life, he proudly owned a chocolate factory in Montana, where he sold his confections nationwide. It was during this time that he adopted the nickname "Montana Tom," a moniker he cherished until his final days.

An avid golfer, he enjoyed playing countless rounds with his close friends Lee and Jeff at the Whitefish golf courses, a pastime that brought him great joy.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his children, Kim (John) Rose, Tom (Cheryl) Krustangel, and Kris (Christy) Krustangel; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
