Montana State’s unbeaten season has had no shortage of standouts, and eight Bobcats landed honors on the Stats Perform FCS All-America teams released Wednesday.

Topping the list is senior quarterback Tommy Mellott, who was a first-team selection along with offensive lineman Marcus Wehr.

Mellott and Wehr were also first-team All-America selections on the Associated Press FCS honors teams released on Tuesday.

Mellott enters MSU’s FCS semifinal game with South Dakota on Saturday with 2,587 career rushing yards with 35 touchdowns. He has thrown for 2,430 of his 4,416 career passing yards this season, along with 24 of his 36 career TDs.

Wehr, who switched to the offensive line from the D-line in 2022, was a consensus All-America pick in 2023 as well.

Making the second team were tight end/H-back Rohan Jones, defensive end Brody Grebe and punt returner Taco Dowler.

The Bobcats were represented on the third team by running back Scottre Humphrey and O-lineman Conner Moore.

Finally, running back Adam Jones made the Stats Perform All-Freshman team.

Montana had two players honored: Junior Bergen was first team at punt returner; and Brandon Casey was a second-team selection on the offensive line.

Bergen ended his career tied for the most punt return touchdowns in FCS history with eight to his name. He also has the school record for average yards per return at 16.71, better than former NFL All-Pro Marc Mariani’s average of 15.01.

That average of 16.71 puts him third in Big Sky history behind Eastern Washington’s Cooper Kupp (17.0) and Weber State’s Randle Anderson (18.48).

Casey made 43 career starts at right tackle for the Griz.
