Law roundup: Employee checks out of possibly boring meeting
Someone called the Columbia Falls Police Department allegedly concerned about an employee’s “erratic behavior” during an online meeting and asked officers to check on his welfare. They said the employee, who worked from home, didn’t “look engaged” and told a colleague he didn’t remember attending the meeting.
A man calling from Sixth Street alleged his ex-employer was defaming him and wanted advice on what to do. He was advised it was a matter to be handled in civil court.
Officers responded to a man’s concern that his brother put his debit card in his bag to frame him for stealing it and wanted police to give it back because he had been violent recently. The debit card was returned without incident.
Two men with flashlights reportedly dug through trash behind a church on Talbot Road.

A man with a past allegedly packed his belongings and left town without letting officers know the date he was leaving the jurisdiction or where he was headed.
Someone heard a “boom” and electrical lines spark 3- to 4-inch flames on 11th Street. The fire was extinguished on 11th Street.
