Moody, Griz men overpower NDSU
FARGO, N.D. — Aanen Moody scored a career-high 36 points, Brandon Whitney added 17 and the Montana Grizzlies defeated North Dakota State 96-86 in men’s basketball in the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge.
Moody became the first Griz player to score 30 points in a game since Whitney did against North Dakota in November 2021.
Montana (9-5) shot 57 percent from the field and went 20 of 21 from the free throw line.
Tajavis Miller scored 19 points to lead the Bison (7-6), who had five players score in double figures.
The Griz got hot early taking a 15-5 lead just over six minutes in, and took a 43-30 lead into the break.
In the second half North Dakota State charged back late to cut the deficit to 88-82 with one minute left, but Montana’s near-perfect free throw shooting sealed the game.
Montana is back at home for the first time since December 9th on Saturday when they take on South Dakota.
