Big Sky girls overpower Pack

Kaydence Couture knocked down three 3-pointers and scored a game high 13 points as Big Sky defeated Glacier 48-26 in girls basketball Tuesday.

“I thought our first half was excellent, we played with them, sometimes surpassed them,” said coach Amanda Cram.  “Unfortunately, the second half we came out flat, I didn't think we were as aggressive.”

Charlotte Osler led the way with seven points for the Wolfpack, who trailed 18-15 at intermission.

Aubrey Hale added 12 points for Big Sky, who used a 13-1 run from the end of the second quarter into the third to take control of the game.

Early on neither team could find a basket as Noah Fincher scored the only bucket in the first three minutes of the game. Both teams started to find their rhythm soon after and Big Sky would hold an 11-10 advantage after one.

The second quarter was a struggle on both sides once again with Glacier only able to make one field goal in the quarter. Couture would find the hoop late in the quarter to put the Eagles up three.

Out of the break, Couture would find five quick points to give Big Sky some separation, and a Hale three would extend the lead out to 28-15.

In the fourth quarter, Tina Kirilovich would get to the hoop for an and-one layup to give the Eagles a 45-25 lead, and Big Sky would cruise from there.

“(I told them) It’s ok to be disappointed today, and it's okay to be frustrated,” Cram said. “But we need to channel those frustrations into what we do in practice these next few days.”

Glacier is back in action Friday, on the road in Butte.
