Law roundup: The snow wars, begun they have
Accusing a neighbor of plowing snow onto her property, a woman asked the Kalispell Police Department to put a stop to it. When she asked the man to stop, he just cussed her out, she said. When officers arrived, they learned that the man was plowing at the request of neighbors. Investigators determined that none of the snow had ended up on the woman’s property and deemed the allegations unfounded. Still, the man agreed to stay extra clear of her land.
A woman phoned dispatch expressing displeasure at the way officers were handling her report, but she hung up before dispatchers could collect any additional information.
The owner of a building near Fourth Avenue West North reported a homeless person sleeping on the property and asked that officers displace him. The man departed before officers arrived.
Officers rerouted a report of a woman making off with a rental car to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office as the crime allegedly occurred outside of the city.
A 300-pound, drug-seeking patient earned a police response. Employees of the medical facility told authorities that the man had threatened his doctor, allegedly saying “that he’d kill someone if he didn’t get his pain meds.”
Workers at another business phoned authorities after spotting a possibly unconscious woman in a parked black Pontiac. They suspected her of using drugs. Officers met up with the woman, who was taking a nap. She agreed to leave and officers recommended she take care of her outstanding warrants.
Worried an interloper had followed her home, a woman phoned the police. The individual was in a black Toyota Camry and had shadowed her from Meridian Road to the complex. It continued following as the woman drove around the building several times. Officers unsuccessfully tried to track down the Camry.
A new tenant wanted help from the police after realizing her neighbor let their dog bark constantly. She told investigators the barking began about 8:45 a.m. She had already lodged a complaint with the property manager.
A resident reported finding a package by their front door with a large master key on it.
A woman accused her sister of using her Social Security number to open accounts, telling the police that she is now being threatened with garnishment. She inquired about pressing charges against her sibling.
Homeless people setting up camp for the afternoon irked a passerby, who phoned the police. When dispatchers asked who she was, she allegedly responded haughtily. “It doesn’t matter who I am, just move them along,” she reportedly replied.
