| January 18, 2024 12:00 AM

Flathead Valley Community College’s Mask and Hammer Theatre Club and Soroptimist International of Whitefish present an evening spotlighting Human Trafficking Awareness Month on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.

Mask and Hammer will present a staged reading of the play “Body and Sold,” by Deborah Lake Fortson. The documentary play aims to raise awareness of the sexual exploitation and trafficking of America’s youth.

The playwright states, “The Body and Sold Project thanks the young men and women who told their stories in order that other people would become aware of the dangers in being on the street. We honor their courage and their resilience.”

Following the staged reading, Soroptimist International is offering an informational question-and-answer session with a panel of professionals who champion the ongoing fight against human trafficking.

Anyone is welcome to attend the event taking place in the Joe Legate Black Box Theatre in FVCC’s Arts & Technology Building. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for seniors, and free for students.
