Glacier, Flathead swimmers back in pool this weekend

Along with our other winter sports, the local swim teams are set to return to action this weekend.

The Crosstown swim meet is set for Friday at 4:30 p.m., at the Summit, which is attached to the Logan Health Medical Fitness Center.

Glacier has the deeper teams, with Olivia Gibbons, Madeline McGaughy, Ainsley McGuaghy, Eleanor Workswright, Lucy Melnick and Hanna Vornbrock on the girls side and Ed McNeil, Ed Melnick, Jude Flake, Owen Carpenter and Isaac Keim on the boys.

Flathead is led by Garrison Berger and Silas Eayers for the boys and Bethan Armstrong on the girls side.

Gibbons, Madeleine McGuaghy, Vornbrok and McNeil were all double-winners at the last meet, in Polson on Jan. 6.

Additionally, last Saturday’s invitational meet that was canceled by the blizzard has been rescheduled for this Saturday at the Summit.

Columbia Falls, Whitefish, Bigfork and Polson will join Flathead and Glacier in the pool. First event starts at 9 a.m.
