Boys hoops: Schweikert, Hill lead C-Falls over Browning

COLUMBIA FALLS — Cody Schweikert had 15 points and seven rebounds, Jace Hill keyed a second-half rally and Columbia Falls topped Browning 52-49 in Northwest A boys basketball Friday.

Hill scored all of his 12 points after halftime, eight coming in an 18-7 third quarter surge that pulled the Wildcats (5-5 overall, 3-1 in Northwest A games) into a 39-36 lead.

Schweikert provided a three-point play in the fourth quarter, and Hill hit four straight free throws in the final 30 seconds for C-Falls. Browning (4-7, 2-3 in league) had a final possession end in a turnover.

Maurice Redhorn III led Browning with 16 points and Jude Reevis added 10.

WHITEFISH  — Whitefish guard Mason Kelch hit five 3-pointers and scored 23 points, and the Bulldogs downed Bigfork in a Northwest A battle.

CJ Thew added 16 points for Whitefish (7-2, 3-0 in league), eight coming in a 25-point third quarter that sealed the outcome. Kelch hit his third and fourth 3-pointers in the frame as well.

Asher Knopik led Bigfork (4-7, 2-3) with 11 points.

EUREKA — Braden Casazza poured in 19 points, 11 in the first half while the Lions buit a 31-20 halftime lead.

Tristan Butts added 14 points — nine in the first half — and Jacob Lane had 11 of his 13 in the first half as well for Eureka (7-2 overall, 3-0 in District 7-B games). 

Darren Standeford’s 15 points lead the Horsemen (6-5, 1-3 in league).
