Maxine Arnold, 73

Forever loved, Maxine Joy Arnold passed away peacefully on Dec. 20, 2023, joining her parents and friends on the other side. She lived a life of integrity, generosity, and loyalty that was undeniably inspiring.

Maxine was born to Bob and Ethel Groseclose on May 10, 1950, in Long Beach California. She grew up with a loving family and wonderful vacations in Alaska and the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Maxine was a registered nurse specializing in pediatrics and neonatal intensive care. She worked as a flight nurse in Salt Lake City, Utah, and had a passion for treating and caring for premature babies. She married her first husband, John, in 1970 and had two children, Kevin and Allyson. They were the love of her life. 

In 1997 she divorced and moved to the Flathead Valley in Montana. She found and married her soulmate, Russel Barnett, in 2002. They enjoyed years horse packing into the Bob Marshall wilderness. They cultivated countless memories including international travels across the world. She enjoyed skiing, tennis, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, golfing, gardening, traveling, bridge, and pickleball. She had a competitive nature and wouldn’t hesitate to beat you in anything!

She leaves behind her husband Russ, children Kevin and Allyson, son-in-law Trebor Schwada, daughter-in-law Coralie Seizilless de Mazancourt Arnold, brother Aaron Groseclose and wife Barbara, many nephews and nieces, and many cherished friends that meant so much to her. Her friends and family were the center of her universe and will continue to honor her legacy by living life to the fullest.
