Ronan tips Whitefish, says perfect in NW-A
RONAN — Kelby Finley scored 17 points for Ronan, and the Chiefs used a big third quarter to take down Whitefish 50-39 and stay unbeaten in Northwest A boys basketball games Tuesday.
Devonne Curley, Ted Coffman and Marlo Tonasket all hit 3-pointers in a third quarter surge that turned Ronan’s 24-23 halftime lead into a 41-30 gap. Coffman added 10 points and Tonasket, nine for the Chiefs (8-3 overall, 6-0 in Northwest A games).
CJ Thew and Mason Kelch combined for 28 points for Whitefish (6-3, 2-1), 15 during a torrid first quarter. From there the Bulldogs shot just 7 of 29 from the floor. Kelch hit two 3-pointers.

BROWNING — Bigfork’s Asher Knopik hit three 3-pointers and scored 27 points, and the Vikings held off Browning for a Northwest A victory.
Eli Thorness added 13 points and Jack Jensen had 10 for the Vikings (5-7 overall, 3-3 in Northwest A games), who went 15 of 23 at the line, including 5-for-8 in the fourth quarter.
Maurice Redhorn III scored 23 and Delbert Blackman 17 for the Indians (6-4, 2-2). Redhorn bombed in five 3-pointers.

POLSON — Jesse Vail scored 14 points, including two big fourth-quarter 3-pointers, and the Polson Pirates held off Libby for their first Northwest A boys basketball win Tuesday.
Ezra Fasthorse added 10 points and Anthony Lichtenberg and Brenden Griffin added nine each for the Pirates (2-10, 1-5 in league), who built a 38-31 lead through three quarters.
Libby (2-8, 0-4) rallied in the fourth quarter, getting 11 points from Tyler Anderson, who finished with a game-high 20. He and Ryan Beagle both hit threes in the final frame. Beagle had 11 points.
