The legendary Los Lobos band is set to stop in Kalispell in July as part of their 50th-anniversary.  Tickets are on sale now for the July 26 concert at the Wachholz College Center at Flathead Valley Community College.

The Grammy Award-winning band’s blend of rock, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues, and traditional Spanish and Mexican music has captivated audiences worldwide.

Reaching the Billboard Hot 100 with their rendition of Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba,” the band went on to solidify their status as one of the most influential bands recording 17 studio albums, seven live LPs, three compilations and two EPs, in addition to more than 40 guest contributors on friends’ recordings.

Still made up of original members, David Hidalgo, Louie Pérez, Jr., Cesar Rosas, Conrad Lozano and Steve Berlin, the prolific band has received the American Latino Media Arts Ritchie Valens Pioneer Award, National Education Association and Hispanic Heritage Foundation honors, Congressional recognition and in 2018, was inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame.

“But beyond all the hoopla and applause (and the source of it all, really) is the tremendous heart. Rather, hearts. Cinco corazones. Five blood brothers who have dedicated their off-stage time to helping others, working for peace and justice, penning some of the most literate and important music of their time, transforming the hard cries from the East L.A. barrio into songs of hope, tales of common folk finding ways to endure. The young wolves were weaned on late-night radio’s soul, R&B, and doo-wop. Were cured through the African-American currents of the blues, jazz, and rock ’n’ roll,” according to a press release.

Tickets prices range from $45 to $72, not including ticket service fees. Tickets may be purchased online at www.wachholzcollegecenter.org or at the ticket office, 795 Grandview Drive   Kalispell.
