A pink-infused tale with an inspiring main character highlights the Bigfork Summer Playhouse production of “Legally Blonde the Musical.”

The musical comedy based on the beloved 2001 hit movie of the same name opens July 5 and runs throughout the summer. The playhouse is marking its 65th season of live professional theater this summer with a cast drawn from talent across the country.

“Legally Blonde” tells the story of the charming Elle Woods and her adventures at Harvard Law School. Directed and choreographed by industry veterans, the show promises to deliver high-energy numbers, heartfelt moments, and plenty of humor that will leave audiences cheering.

Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School, proves that girl power can indeed change the world. With unwavering determination and her signature style, Woods tackles stereotypes and surpasses expectations, all while rocking a pink wardrobe and wielding her formidable intellect.

Watch as she transforms from a fashion-forward sorority president to a legal powerhouse, with her charm, “chip on her shoulder,” and the iconic “bend and snap!”

"Elle's journey is a testament to the power of brains, heart, and a little bit of style," says Choreographer Ford Haeuser. "We’re thrilled to share this empowering story with our community and to celebrate BSP's milestone season with such an iconic production."

Performances rotate nightly along with the other playhouse productions including “Beauty and the Beast,” “Crazy for You,” and “Footloose,” for a summer filled with top-notch entertainment.
