Vitalant is holding blood drives this month and urging people to donate, as donations in July are the lowest for the entire year, according to officials with the nonprofit.

Logan Health partners with Vitalant for their blood services. The company is one of the largest blood service providers in the United States.

The first drive is on July 28 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s basement in Kalispell, running from 1:30 to 4:15 p.m. Another drive will be held at the same location on July 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Logan Health is holding a drive on July 30 in its Glacier Conference Center, located at 1375 U.S. 93 in Kalispell, which will run from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

On Wednesday, July 31 the drive moves to Logan Health Whitefish in the Professionals Building Conference, located at  711 13th St. E. in Whitefish. That drives runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Donors of all blood types are urgently needed, officials with Vitalant said, especially type O, the most transfused blood type. O-negative can be used to help any patient in an emergency and O-positive can help any patient with a positive blood type, officials said.

Those interested can make an appointment to give at vitalant.org by typing in their zip code and searching for nearby drives or call 877-25-VITAL (877-258-4825).
