Twins pick up 2 wins at Gallo

WHITEFISH —  The Glacier A Twins beat the Missoula Impact Baseball Club 4-0 Thursday at the Ed Gallo Tournament behind an all-around performance from Trenton Derosa.

Derosa pitched six scoreless innings, allowing only four hits. He also reached base on both of his plate appearances with a walk and a double. 

The Twins used a big fifth inning where they scored all four of their runs, highlighted by West Amerman who drove in the only run of the game with an RBI base hit. 

Amerman later scored on an error and two wild pitches brought in two more runs to bring the game to its 4-0 final. 

The win gave the Twins a 2-1 mark at the Gallo; they were 21-6 overall going into a Saturday night game against Spokane Rawlings 18U. That game was not over at press time.

The Twins jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning and hung on to beat the West Plains Cannons Friday.  

Kellen Kroger leadoff the inning with a triple to right field and was driven in by Nolan Amerman to take a 1-0 lead. A fielder’s choice RBI from Michael Miller and two errors by the Cannons brought the score to 4-0.  

Matthew Mitts started the game for the Twins and only allowed one run, but his six walks forced him out of the game in the third. Dawson Juntunen finished off the game with four scoreless frames and only allowed one hit to earn the victory.
