After taking a 3-1 lead in the second inning, the Kalispell A Lakers were shut out over the next six innings and lost 6-3 against the Calgary Cubs at their John R Harp Memorial Legion tournament Sunday at Griffin Field.

The Lakers (28-22) ended their tournament 3-1; late Saturday they thumped the Fort MacLeod Royals 17-2. The Cubs went 4-0.

The Lakers plated three runs in the second inning on Hunter Gildeen, Max Schara and Brady Buckmaster RBIs, but only had two hits the rest of the game.

The four errors committed by the Lakers proved to be costly, as the pitching staff was only charged with three earned runs.

Emmett Pengelly pitched a complete game for Calgary, allowing five hits and one earned run.

Gildeen had the only extra-base hit for the Lakers, a triple to right in the sixth inning. He was stranded.
