For the second time in three days the Kalispell A Lakers and Glacier Twins met on the diamond for a doubleheader.

Just like Wednesday both teams head home with a win as Glacier took game one 4-3, and the Lakers nabbed a 5-3 win in game two.

Kyler Croft put the Lakers (29-24) on the board first in game one with a sacrifice fly in the first, but that was all that Twins (24-9) pitcher Trenton Derosa allowed until the seventh.

Derosa helped his cause in the second as he tied the game with an RBI single.

Kellen Kroger put Glacier in front with a two-RBI double in the fifth, making it a 3-1 game. Nolan Amerman added one more run on an RBI ground out to put the Twins up by three.

The run proved pivotal as Kalispell’s Liam Rech drove in a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh on a double to right field. The Lakers couldn’t find the tying run though as Dawson Juntunen finished the game out for Glacier.

Derosa went 6 1-3 innings on the mound, giving up three runs and allowing seven hits.

George Schwan threw a complete game for Kalispell, allowing five hits and striking out three.

In the second game, Kalispell used a five-run third inning to take control after Amerman put the Twins up 1-0 in the first.

H Glidden highlighted the inning with a two-run single out to right field that made it a 5-1 ball game.

Glacier added a pair of runs in the fourth, but they got no closer as Kalispell closed out the win.

Max Schara threw seven innings for the Lakers, allowing five hits and striking out three.

Michael Miller started for Glacier, going 2 2-3 innings and allowing five runs. Juntunen finished out the game for the Twins, allowing three hits and striking out a pair.

Glacier next head to Cranbrook for a Sunday doubleheader with the Bandits, while Kalispell’s next action is at the Class A west district tournament starting Thursday in Florence.
