Herbert Richard Tipton, 72

Herbert Richard Tipton, 72, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at home in Mills, Wyoming. He was born July 25, 1951, in Davenport, Iowa, to Herbert H. Tipton (passed, Feb. 14, 1981) and Helen Taylor Tipton (passed, Sept. 30, 2011).

Herb was the eldest of five siblings, Marilyn Lee Jackshaw, Mona Thompson (passed, May 2, 2023), James Tipton (passed in 1956), and Iva Schroeder. 

He attended Half Moon Country School and then to Columbia Falls Schools where he graduated from. He attended Flathead Community College. Joined the U.S. Air Force and was given an honorable discharge in January of 1971. He did obtain his associate degree in social work and worked in foster care.

Herb married Deborah Wilson on Sept. 4, 1970, and they had one child, Shannon Tipton Martell. They later divorced. Herb married Belle Turcotte April 20, 1978, and gained two stepchildren, Samantha Elder and Melvin Codotte. Herb and Belle had two children, Nova Tipton Mack and Shane Tipton. They were later divorced. Herb married his current wife, Delcie Jones on July 5, 2008, and had no children. Delcie has stood by Herb's side and has taken care of him for a number of years due to illnesses. She was his rock.

He is survived by his wife, Delcie; two sisters, five children, and many grandchildren. 

He loved being in charge and had a big smile with a hardy laugh. He will be missed by his family. 

A memorial is being planned around the end of September in Casper, Wyoming.
