Country music legend Clint Black celebrates 35 years of ‘Killin’ Time’

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday to see legendary country music artist Clint Black at the Wachholz College Center.

Black comes to Kalispell on Aug. 25 to celebrate 35 years of his triple-platinum debut album “Killin’ Time.” The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

For the first time, the Grammy-award winner and Grand Ole Opry member will play the record live. “Killin’ Time” led to Black’s meteoric rise live, producing five consecutive No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot Country charts. 

Black’s style is a blend of traditional country, honky-tonk and Western swing, influenced by Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Merle Haggard, to whom his smooth baritone voice was initially compared. 

Over his career, Black has sold more than 20 million records, written and recorded 22 No. 1 singles, according to his bio at www.clintblack.com. He’s received numerous CMA, Academy of Country Music and American Music Awards He’s been honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Nashville Walk of Fame. 

“This concert is a unique opportunity for fans to experience this country music legend performing ‘Killin' Time’ live on stage from start to finish, and to celebrate the enduring legacy of one of country music's most influential albums,” Wachholz Director Matt Laughlin said in a press release.
