Northwest Montana Association of Realtors honors professionals
The Northwest Montana Association of Realtors handed out a list of honors at its annual awards banquet on Wednesday at Flathead Valley Community College.
Awards included Realtor of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Jean Carter Spirit and the NMAR Good Neighbor Award.
The 2024 Realtor of the Year went to Brenda Miller.
The award is the most prestigious award members can receive from the association. This award is given by nomination to a member who meets criteria that demonstrates involvement in their community by showing the true meaning of volunteering and professionalism.
Miller, a broker with Montana Brokers, Inc., has been a licensed real estate agent for 16 years, always greeting others with a warm smile. Education is paramount to her, having earned numerous designations and certifications throughout her career. Heavily involved with NMAR, she has served on several of the committees as well as chairing many of them. She is NMAR’s past president, advocating tirelessly for the benefits of committee participation and relationship-building among Realtors.
She serves as the regional ambassador and has been on MAR's executive committee for two years. Her commitment extends nationally as a member of the safety committee, where she also volunteers to moderate specific meetings.
The 2024 Rookie of the Year Award winner is Sarah Meehan with Montana Property Angels. To be eligible for Rookie of the Year, a realtor must have been licensed within the last two years.
Meehan has hit the ground running in pursuing professional growth and community involvement, according to NMAR. She actively participates in local charity events.
Transitioning from over a decade in health care, Meehan seamlessly brings her compassion and dedication to real estate, helping 14 families find homes or investment properties so far, with six more under contract.
The NMAR Good Neighborhood Award went to Tim Norton of Montana Brokers. This award recognizes Realtors who make a positive impact on their community and give to the organization through which they volunteer time and talents. Norton is a founding board member of the Flathead Marines nonprofit and has been treasurer since 2014. As a result of the award, the nonprofit will receive a $1,000 contribution from the NMAR Charitable Foundation.
The Jean Carter Spirit Award went to Zac Andrews with Montana West Realty in Bigfork. Named in honor of Jean Carter, the award is given to an individual who goes above and beyond every measure for their community. Andrews has 20 years as a Realtor and is a passionate advocate for the real estate industry, continuously working to improve the local association, according to a release. He's spearheading plans to acquire land and design a new NMAR building to better serve Realtors long-term. He serves as a Governor to the Montana Regional MLS during a pivotal transition period with new regulations and challenges.
