Ronnie Wayne Walter, 66

Ronnie Wayne "Rerun" Walter, 66, passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 12, 1957, in Browning to Clifford Arthur Walter and Barbara Ann Hanson Walter Greiff. 

He grew up on the Blackfeet reservation, leaving school early to work on the family ranch. 

Later in life, he would get his GED. He cooked at the Lariet Motel and Cafe in Babb and other jobs. He met the love of his life Memori Dawn Salois, and they were married July 30, 1977. 

He started working at Glacier Electric where he worked his way up to being a certified journeyman lineman. Ron and Memori were foster parents to several children while they lived in Browning. After moving to Cut Bank they adopted a son Tyler in 1985. They then had their daughter Feather in 1987.

Ronnie retired early from Glacier Electric in 2003 and went to work with family doing construction. In 2005, he moved to East Glacier Park where he worked for the state, driving the snowplows and taking care of the roads. He really enjoyed this work and continued until he was injured on the job. 

After fully retiring he welcomed his first grandchild, Matthew Ryan in 2011. The family moved to Kalispell soon after that. In 2015 they welcomed his second grandchild Ariel Grace, Ronnie loved being a grandfather most of all and found a new purpose in life. 

Throughout his life he loved riding motorcycles and enjoyed mechanic work as well as hunting and fishing. His most favorite things in life were being with family, playing pinochle and board games. Later in life he loved sitting around a bonfire with his most cherished loved ones. 

He is survived by his daughter Feather Ware, grandchildren Matthew Ware and Ariel Ware of Kalispell; his sisters Linda Scheeler (Columbia Falls), Laurie DeVera (Raeford, North Carolina), and Donna Fauske (Columbia Falls); as well as numerous nephews and nieces. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Barb; his wife Memori; son-in-law Josh Ware; grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will have a celebration of life at 2 p.m., on Saturday, June 29, at 1225 Fourth Ave. West North in Columbia Falls. For questions or details call or text Feather at 229-0617.
