Community dance
Kalispell Tango hosts a community dance on Friday, March 8 in The Gathering Place room in the United Way building, 203 U.S. 2 in Kalispell. Entrance will be on the northeast side of the building. There will be a beginning lesson in American Waltz starting at 7 p.m. and then varied music will be played for the remainder of the dance. Cost is $10 per person or $8 for students
Photographers meet
The Northwest Montana Photographers meet March 12 at Fellowship Church, 1025 Seventh Ave. W, Columbia Falls at 7 p.m. Speaker is well-known photographer Robert Hanson who has been published in “Montana Outdoors” and has won national awards.
Nite of Jazz Fundraiser
The Kalispell Kiwanis Club is presenting its 17th Annual “Nite of Jazz Fundraiser” at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center on March 11 at 6:30 p.m.
The proceeds will benefit each bands from Whitefish High School, Whitefish Middle School, Columbia Falls High School, Glacier High School, Flathead High School, Kalispell Middle School, Bigfork High School and Kiwanis.Cost is $5 per adult and $3 per student.
Modular Railroad Group
The Flathead HO Modular Railroad Group will have its regular operating session for trains at the Kalispell Center Mall on March 9. Located at the western section of the mall, near the lobby entrance to the former Herberger's store, setup time is 11:30 a.m. and operating time starts at noon and continues until about 3 p.m.
The group operates HO gauge trains, running both DC and DCC operational systems.
Persons who have locomotives and/or cars they wish to run on the layout are welcome to bring them.

Lift Series
Brett Dennen, known for his heartfelt lyrics and dynamic performances, is set to take the stage for an unforgettable night of stories and music when he brings his annual Lift Series to the Wachholz College Center on March 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Now in its seventh year, the Lift Series is Dennen’s annual tour of America’s best ski towns.
His signature red hair and lanky frame are as unmistakable as his music, described in his bio as a distinct blend of folk-pop melodies, thought-provoking lyrics, and soulful vocal prowess.
A set by Kalispell singer-songwriter Mike Murray opens the evening.
The Kalispell native has been a performing musician for more than a decade, racking up big performances like Austin’s SXSW and Whitefish’s Under the Big Sky Festival. He released his sixth studio album “The Devil’s Rope” in 2021, and recently signed it to A-Tone Recordings, a label of Extreme Music
