Law roundup: Man follows teen to the river
A man in his 20s or 30s, who was smoking a cigarette and driving a white car, allegedly stopped to help a 17-year-old put gas in her car and fill the oil tank but didn’t stop there. He reportedly followed her to the Old Steel Bridge and then to the river, where she tried to walk her dog, saying he thought “she could use a friend.” She decided it was time to leave. Her mother called the police, telling officers she went to the river and found the man, saying he was lucky she didn’t have a gun.
Someone reportedly thought bloody handprints they saw on a window might be a joke, but instead of laughing they called the Kalispell Police Department. The handprints were fake.
A caller bellyached to police about transients “spread all over” a gazebo, making it “unusable to others,” and “looks trashy.” Officers went to the public park where they saw the “usual subjects,” but their dogs were on leashes and things were “fairly picked up.”
A woman allegedly told people a man was a drug addict and had them come to the property to intimidate him and threaten to beat him up. He called officers for advice, saying he didn’t want “problems like that.” A woman was heard in the background yelling, “He won’t let me out.” He responded by calling out her name saying, “I’m not even close to you or your bathroom so stop with that s—.”
A woman reportedly heard her neighbor screaming her name and calling her names. The woman told police she was concerned the neighbor was preparing to blame her for something and said she wanted nothing to do with her. Officers counseled the two adults who did not get along.
A man reportedly yelled at a woman about what they were having for dinner and then grabbed her by the shirt, threw her into a sink and then blocked the door to prevent her from leaving. He was hauled to jail.
