C-Falls surges past Ronan in baseball
COLUMBIA FALLS — Kellen Kroger had three hits, Reggie Sapa had a triple and two runs batted in and Columbia Falls surged past Ronan 14-4 in high school baseball Thursday.
Connor Venezio had two hits and scored three runs for the Wildcats (3-0), who trailed 4-0 in the first inning and then scored the game’s last 14 runs. Sapa, Dominick Young, Kroger and Jace Hill all scored twice.
Young threw three innings of sharp relief, allowing two hits and striking out six. The game ended in the fourth inning under the mercy rule.
Coleton Sherman and DaVonne Curley hit RBI singles during Ronan’s four-run first inning, and Ben Mitchell drew a bases-loaded walk. Tristan Fisher had two doubles for the Chiefs (0-2).
