Cura Med Spa focuses on enhancing beauty
Nastastia Byrd Han believes that everyone is naturally beautiful, and with her new med spa, Cura, she hopes to tap into each person’s unique beauty.
The Kalispell med spa offers microneedling, laser hair removal, IV hydration, dermaplaning, lasering, limelight photofacials, botox, and other skincare based services.
“I am really passionate about enhancing people’s natural features,” she said. “Some of the less natural treatments are making everybody look the same, so in time that look is going to become un-unique. There’s a lot we can do to make people feel confident and radiant, but we don’t have to alter who you are at the core.”
Byrd Han encourages clients to schedule a consultation before beginning to discuss concerns and to create a comprehensive treatment plan.
Cura Med Spa partners with Lira, a global skincare line that uses plant stem cells, topical probiotics, and advanced peptides, to offer skincare correction, maintenance, and prevention treatments. Because each client has different skincare needs, Byrd Han personalizes her recommendation based on their goals, such as skin cleansing, brightening, or anti-aging, as well as the client’s skin profile.
“Lira is very result-based and customizable,” Byrd Han said. “I love that for a medical grade, high quality skincare line, the price point is very manageable, and it's still an incredible product.”
“We have both active cleansers that do work and then some rest cleansers that are gentle and renewing for the skin. Then we have lotions and creams that are very hydrating,” said Han. “And then we have our serums which are mostly active and can help reverse pigmentation.”
As a fourth-generation Montanan and the 61st granddaughter of entrepreneurs Herman and Bernida Byrd who owned Byrd’s Food Mart in Martin City, Byrd Han said that her own entrepreneurial spirit could no longer be tamed.
“I’ve been in medicine since 2007 and I loved working in a private clinic, but I knew I needed to branch out on my own, and once I get an idea, I just can’t stop dreaming about it. I really love dermatology so I decided to take the leap,” she said.
Byrd Han has done every bit of building the business on her own from the design of the space and social media management to book keeping and administration. In the future, Byrd Han says she hopes to hire employees so she can focus on providing care.
“I offer some of the industry leading laser technology treatments that are new to the market,” she said. “I’m one of the first med spas in the country to get the Secret Duo which pairs radio frequency and microneedling and is very customizable. It goes deep into the dermal layers and stimulates the collagen and elastin to be reproduced which keeps the skin tight, beautiful, and glowing.”
Byrd Han has both her bachelor’s and master’s in nursing, is a licensed nurse practitioner, and has trained with International Association of Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine. For Byrd Han, part of dermatology’s appeal is the tangible and visible results that her clients achieve. Whether it's acne or eczema, she loves seeing people get cured and gain confidence in their skin.
“I value people’s inherent beauty and I want my patients to have great outcomes and see the benefit of taking care of themselves,” said Byrd Han. “It’s what I love and it’s been really fun.”
