Eureka sweeps own Easter Bunny Meet

EUREKA — Eureka’s Kricket Bridges swept the 100 and 200 and teammate Haidyn Guckenberg won both the 400 and the 300-meter hurdles, and the Lions went on to sweep the team titles at their Good Friday Easter Bunny meet.

Eureka’s girls had 111 points to 71 for Plains, 26 for Troy and four for Mission. On the boys side Eureka had 94 points to 59.5 for Plains, 50 for Troy and 30.5 for Mission.

For the boys, the host Lions swept the relays, winning the 4-by-100 in 46.68, and got two wins from Josh Lamberton, in the pole vault (a personal record of 10-9) and the 200 (24.18, another PR). 

The Lions also had wins from Jesse Day in the javelin (a PR of 143-8) and Braden Casazza in the high jump.

Mission’s Isaac Umphrey won the 100 and 400. Troy’s Nolan Morris won the 800 and1,600, and teammate Jacob Gromley swept the shot put and discus.

Eureka also swept the girls relays and had wins from Karli Campbell (pole vault) and Kara Stanger (javelin).

Plains’ Alexis Deming swept the discus and shot put, marking 35-7.5 and 116-1. Teammate Katelyn Subatch won the high jump and triple jump.
