Submission window open for Whitefish Review

| May 23, 2024 12:00 AM

The Whitefish Review literary journal is accepting submissions for its annual humor writing prize, which offers $1,000 to the winning piece.

Fiction, non-fiction and poetry will be accepted through Sept. 30. In addition to the prize money, the winner’s work will be published in “Whitefish Review.” The entry fee is $25, a fundraiser for the nonprofit literary journal.

TV writer Molly McNearney will serve as the final judge in the contest.

“Comedy almost lost Molly to journalism, but Whitefish Review is thankful she knew we need more humor in the world than news,” said Brian Schott, founding editor of the nonprofit literary journal. "Molly has the utmost respect for writers and invites authentic, fearless submissions to the contest."

McNearney is co-head writer and executive producer of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and the executive producer and writer of the 2024 Oscars. A Second City and ImprovOlympic alum, she produces and writes for the Primetime Emmy Awards, and her credits cross over into film, other television, and acting.
