Richard Gordon Green, 77
On Thursday, May 23, 2024, Richard Gordon Green, loving partner, father, and grandfather, passed away at age 77 after a tremendous year-and-a-half battle with cancer.
Richard (known to some as Rich or Dick) is a Columbia Falls native, with the Green family having lived in the area for six generations. His parents, Thelma and Gordon married in 1920 and had five children. Richard served in the Navy, spending the majority of his service in Japan as a teletype. Following his service, in 1968 Richard began working for Anaconda Aluminum Company, later known as CFAC (Columbia Falls Aluminum Company) where he worked for most of his career. This is also where he met his best friend and love of his life, Karen. This year they celebrated 42 years married. Richard has one son, Dake, with his former wife Joan Inman and two stepdaughters, Stephanie, and Shannon.
Richard had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed camping, hiking, biking, and all outdoors, especially in Montana, Glacier Park, and surrounding areas. He loved playing cards and games with friends and family. Richard was an avid reader and loved westerns and mystery novels.
Richard is survived by his wife, Karen; his son Dake and wife Sonya; stepdaughter Stephanie and husband Greg; stepdaughter Shannon and husband Aaron; grandchildren Megan, Cassey, Scarlett and Vivienne; great-grandchildren Braxton and Adelynn. He is also survived by his brothers John and Terry; he is predeceased by brother Larry and sister Laura.
Rich, Dad, PopPop, Grandpa, you are now at peace and will live forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace. Say hello to Larry and Laura for us.
