Rodney Lennick, 65
Rodney Lennick, age 65, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at his home in Columbia Falls.
Rodney was born on June 2, 1958, to Art and Shirley Lennick, where he joined his siblings, Gar, Merv and Audrey. He grew up in Columbia Falls and graduated from high school there. After high school, he started working at the aluminum plant, where he worked until he retired in 2008 due to health reasons.
Rod loved fishing and hunting and had many fond memories of doing those things with Russ Graham, Dave Speer and Fred Phillips. Lots of stories are still being told about some of those escapades.
Rod was very proud of how his sons, Justin and Aaron, had grown up and started families of their own. He loved and thought the world of his grandchildren, Ryland, Bridger, River and Reese. He couldn’t wait to start hunting and fishing with them. He loved spending time with them.
Rod met and married Renee in November of 1995. Together they traveled, fished, and hunted all over. In some circles, they were called “Rod and Reel” or the “Dynamic Duo.”
One of Rod’s greatest accomplishments besides, his children and grandchildren, was that he became a member of Alcoholics Anonymous in 1986 and continued his sobriety until the time of his death. He won the battle against alcoholism and addiction. His cup is now hanging on the wall in his favorite group place, “The Canyon Group.”
Rod is preceded in death by his parents Art and Shirley Lennick; brothers Gar and Merv Lennick; nephew Gene Lennick; and his mother-in-law Shirley Olson.
He is survived by his wife Renee; sons Justin (Brandi) Lennick, and Aaron (Kat) Lennick; grandchildren Ryland, Bridger, River, and Reese; sister Audrey Gambrel; father-in-law Ken Olson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Rod will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Darlington Cremation and Burial Services, 3408 U.S. Highway 2 E., Kalispell, with a celebration of Rod’s life following at the Montana Veterans Home Service Building Chapel.
