BILLINGS — The Bulldogs struck first, but the Rams rallied back.

Billings Central pulled back a 2-0 deficit and scored in overtime to defeat Whitefish 3-2 and claim the Class A soccer championship Saturday.

The win caps off a perfect 15-0-0 season for the Rams, while the Bulldogs finished the year 11-3-1.

The Bulldogs found the back of the net first as Kyler Jonson converted a 15th-minute penalty drawn by Preston McPherson.

Jonson found himself at the spot again eight minutes later as Griffin Gunlikson drew a penalty, converting once again to make it 2-0 Whitefish.

Soon after, Billings Central made it 2-1 as Cole Bland finished off the assist from Daniel Apostol.

Out of the half Billings Central tied it from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute as Bland finished his brace.

Neither team could find a winner in the final 25 minutes of regulation or the first overtime period.

Sawyer Guenther put the Rams in front during the second overtime period with a header to complete the comeback for Billings Central — which claimed the program’s first Class A boys soccer title since 2009.
