Volleyball: Glacier wins play-in; Flathead falls
The Glacier Wolfpack stayed perfect against the Butte Bulldogs Thursday, giving Kalispell one entrant into next week’s State AA volleyball tournament at Breeden Field House in Bozeman next week.
The Pack needed five sets to improve to 3-0 against Butte and earn a first-round match with 24-1 Gallatin at State; Glacier is headed to Bozeman for a second straight season.
In Missoula, Flathead lost in straight sets to the Hellgate Knights and ended up 7-19.

In Butte, Cassidy Daniels and Grace Lingle had 10 kills each and Avaieh Thomas added nine as the Wolfpack won 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 15-4.
The five-set thriller saw Allie Krueger get four blocks and Lingle and Sydnie Ryan notch three each. Stella Bayard had 28 assists and Kenedee Moore had 27 digs. Daniels added three aces for the Pack (10-16).
Butte ended up 11-15.

Emma Eve had seven kills and two blocks for the Bravettes, who lost 25-22, 25-15, 25-22. The first set was a back-and-forth affair; the third set the Knights rallied from deficits of 17-8 and 19-11.
Addison Thornsberry had two aces for Flathead; Anna Bain had 13 assists and Katie Manning came up with 14 digs.
Hellgate takes a 12-13 record to State.
