West Valley home damaged in fire
No one was injured in a Rhodes Draw house fire Friday that drew a large response from area fire departments.
According to West Valley Fire Rescue, the fire was first reported Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. Initial reports described a single-story home with flames coming out of the roof.
Upon arrival, crews found the home fully engulfed in flames and began aggressive suppression efforts.
More fire departments were called to assist, including Kalispell, Smith Valley, Evergreen and South Kalispell.
Crews worked together to contain the fire and protect nearby areas.
The fire was out at 9:15 p.m., and crews stayed overnight to monitor hot spots.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation and damage assessments are ongoing.
"While the fire caused damage to the residence, no injuries were reported," a release from West Valley Fire stated. "Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies, the fire was contained, and nearby homes were spared from damage."
