Dorothy Marie Sedivy, 80

| November 10, 2024 12:00 AM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Marie Sedivy, who left this world peacefully on Nov. 3, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on April 12, 1944, to the late Norman and Jean Keller, Dorothy lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and friends.

A graduate of Flathead High School in 1962, Dorothy pursued her passion for beauty and relations by studying cosmetology in Spokane, Washington. It was during this time that she met and fell in love with Frank Sedivy, whom she married on Nov. 14, 1964, at St. Matthews Church in Kalispell. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming their beloved son, Anthony Sedivy into the world.

A woman of many passions, Dorothy found great joy in cooking and baking, often gathering family and friends around her beautifully set table. Her love for her animals was evident in her nurturing nature, while her green thumb brought breathtaking beauty to her beloved flowers during the summer months.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years (11 days shy of 60 years) Frank Sedivy; son, Anthony Sedivy (Shellie); her cherished grandchildren, Caitlin and Dylan Sedivy; brother, Gary Keller (Terri); beloved nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she enriched with her timeless kindness and warmth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her dear sister Norma. While she may have departed from this earthly realm, the love and memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Rest in peace, Dorothy. The world is a little dimmer without you, but your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing you.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at St. Richards Catholic Church in Columbia Falls on Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. followed by light refreshments in the basement. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to your local animal shelter, a cause that Dorothy passionately supported throughout her life.
