Family holiday shows come to Wachholz stage

| October 3, 2024 12:00 AM

Two family-friendly holiday shows are coming to the Wachholz College Center in Kalispell in December.

Starting with “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical” on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m., followed by a cappella group Voctave as it performs its show "It Feels Like Christmas” on Wednesday, Dec.11 at 7 p.m.

In 1964, the beloved stop-motion animated television classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, made its network television debut and has been delighting audiences across the country for over 50 years. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical” brings this favorite classic to life offering families a new way to experience the tradition. Projections, costumes and characters are faithfully brought to the stage against a backdrop of nostalgic set designs including a 12-foot-plus-tall Abominable Snow Monster.

“The familiar story elements from the television special are addressed with a talented cast and puppeteers who help recreate the magic on stage,” says Producer Jonathan Flom.

Formed in 2015 by producer and arranger Jamey Ray, Voctave’s 11-member vocal ensemble brings incredible harmonies to favorites from the Disney screen to the Broadway stage. This a cappella sensation has had over 150 million social media views of their videos and has appeared on countless recordings.

Voctave’s holiday spectacular "It Feels Like Christmas" includes a stocking full of holiday favorites from their chart-topping album and is sure to be a magical evening of music for the whole family.

Both shows are suggested for children 5 years or older. Children under 3 do not need a ticket but are required to sit on the lap of an adult with a ticket.

The Wachholz College Center is located on the campus of Flathead Valley Community College.

Tickets for both shows are on sale now. For more information and ticket details, visit wccmt.org or contact the ticket office at 406-756-1400.
