Somers man dies in crash on Foys Canyon Road

A Somers man died around 5:50 a.m. Saturday in a crash on Foys Canyon Road by Orchard Ridge Road in Kalispell.

The 44-year-old man was driving a Dodge Ram 2500 northbound on Foys Canyon Road when he reportedly failed to negotiate a turn and went into a ditch, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. He reportedly overcorrected and the truck went across the road into the ditch on the other side. The truck rolled, coming to a rest on its roof. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and pinned under the cab of the truck, according to troopers.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash. Road conditions were dry and clear.
