Crosstown soccer was all Glacier.

The Wolfpack boys started off the evening with a 2-0 win on a pair of late goals, before the girls jumped in front early and poured in four second-half goals for a 5-0 win at Legends Stadium.

Elias Holly broke the deadlock for the boys in the 63rd minute with a strike from the edge of the box.

“That was our opportunity,” Holly said. “Just breaking them down across the top and eventually finishing.”

For the girls, Lucy Holloway’s 22nd minute opener from Gracie Winkler set the stage for a dominant performance.

The Wolfpack started the game looking to jump on the Braves early and had plenty of chances to do so.

Braves goalkeeper Kutter Ward was first challenged in the ninth minute as a cross bounced in front of him, but he was able to get a touch and deflect it out for a corner.

Eight minutes later Liam Ells looked to test Ward, but the Flathead defense shut down the opportunity before it could get to goal.

The Braves weren’t just stuck in the defensive end though, as a 25th-minute cross challenged Malachi Lilly in goal for Glacier, but the senior pushed it wide for a corner.

The best chance of the first half came to Glacier as AJ Zlogar found himself alone on a breakaway, but he put the shot wide to the right and the game went into the half scoreless.

The Wolfpack had a few more attempts go wide in the early stages of the second half before Holly broke the seal on the game.

Two minutes after Holly’s goal, Flathead had a great chance to level the score, but Riley Russell was offside as his shot barely missed over the crossbar.

Glacier put the game to bed with a second goal in the 76th minute as Cole Pelucca placed one into the right side of the net.

“Isaac Weaks played a great ball in for me, and I placed it where I wanted it and got it in there,” Pelucca said. “We were moving it really well up top, we just had to draw them out a little more.”

The Wolfpack again started hot as Reese Ramey — playing in the midfield for just the second time this season — rolled one past the post just 5 minutes in.

Flathead worked its first chance in the 21st minute, but the counterattack ended without a shot.

Glacier answered right back on the other end with Holloway’s first goal of the evening, from around 30 yards out. The Wolfpack took the 1-0 lead into the break.

“It was honestly based on luck,” Holloway said. “I hit it and thought it was to go post and out and it ended up going straight in. It was a great goal.”

Out of the half Holloway quickly doubled the lead to finish her brace in the 42nd minute.

Three minutes later Amelia Remley made it 3-0 Glacier on a shot through the hands of the Flathead goalkeeper.

Glacier made it 4-0 on a penalty from Emmery Schmidt after a Bravette foul in the box.

Never in doubt, the Wolfpack closed out the game with another tally in the 75th minute by Teagan Guyette with an assist from Addison Brisendine.

“Hailey Burke has stepped up and done a nice job for us (in goal),” Glacier coach Doug Mello said. “I think a lot of it too has been our stifling defense.”
