Flathead Volleyball earns split with Helena schools

HELENA — Birdie Heuscher had 20 kills and 3 1-2 blocks as Helena High defeated Flathead volleyball in four sets Saturday.

Bristol Lenz and Ava Dyment finished with two kills each for the Bravettes (7-15 overall, 6-5 in Western AA matches), who took set one 26-24. 

The Bengals used 18 aces — seven from Clara Kiser — to control the final three sets 25-11, 25-11 and 25-10. 


Helena defeats Flathead 24-26, 25-11, 25-11, 25-10 

Kills — Flathead 20 (Emma Eve 7), Helena 37 (Birdie Heuscher 20). Assists — Flathead 15 (Anna Bain 13), Helena 33. Digs — Flathead 46 (Katie Manning 16), Helena 53 (Clara Kiser 14). Blocks — Flathead 2 (Briston Lenz 1), Helena 12 (Heuscher 3 1-2). Aces — Flathead 10 (Lenz 2, Ava Dyment 2), Helena 18 (Kiser 7). 


Friday 

Flathead defeats Helena Capital

Flathead used 13 aces to help down Helena Capital in four sets on Friday. 

Addi Smith, Anna Bain and Ava Dyment had four aces each as the Bravettes won sets 1, 2 and 4 to take the win. 

Bain added a team high 23 assists, while Emma Eve led Flathead with 15 kills. 

Katie Manning had 19 digs for the Bravettes, who finished with 82 as a team.
