Gracie Winkler scored twice, including the eventual game winner, as Glacier defeated Helena Capital 4-3 in girls soccer Saturday.

“Our team stepped it up at the end and now we are on a five-game winning streak,” Glacier coach Doug Mello said. “It’s a big boost coming at the end of the season when you want to peak.”

Winkler opened the scoring for Glacier (8-3-2) eight minutes in, after Reese Ramey set her up. Hazel Remley doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute and Emmery Schmidt made it 3-0 from the penalty spot just before the half.

Capital (4-6-1) battled back with a pair of goals in the first eight minutes of the second half.

Winkler restored a two-goal lead with her 67th minute strike, but Capital wasn’t finished yet as Jane Stiffler put home a rebound to make it 4-3 in the 78th minute.
