Law Roundup: Caller loses sight of speeding vehicle

| October 14, 2024 12:00 AM

A White Jeep was speeding down Western Drive and spinning doughnuts, a caller reported to Kalispell Police Department, before losing the vehicle because it was going too fast.

A student found a baggie with powder in it at a park and turned it over to law enforcement.

Plywood was blocking a lane on the U.S. 93 bypass.

Unable to locate the owner of a box of checkbooks, the books were set to be destroyed.

A man wearing a dark hoodie with a grocery cart beside him was throwing garbage out into the street.

Caller was tired of their neighbor's dog howling when the owners were not home.

A youngster used a pen to write “get out” on a vehicle that was parked in an alley. The owner planned to call law enforcement back if it did not clean off the vehicle.

A cattle dog mix was found at Woodland Park and taken to the animal shelter.

A man out taking pictures of the Northern Lights was asked to move along.

Video showed the driver of a car hitting a truck parked along the street. The crash caused the truck to move, but it was not damaged because the car ran into the truck’s hitch.

Caller reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Officed that they were unable to leave their driveway because the neighbor's dog was running loose in the neighborhood.

Someone defaced a sign in Columbia Falls.

A homeowner may have been burning plastic. The caller didn’t see any smoke or flames, but the yard smelled bad, “like plastic.”

Gunshots and cursing were heard from a Kalispell residence.
