Whitefish downs Polson 38-10

WHITEFISH — Carson Gulick threw for three touchdowns, and CJ Thew and Riley Zetooney scored two TDs each as Whitefish downed Polson 38-10 in an important Western A football game Friday.

Gulick completed 15 of 20 passes for 172 yards, including scoring strikes of 29 and 36 yards to Thew and 25 yards to Calvin Eisenbarth. The latter put the Bulldogs 35-10 in the third quarter.

Tait Orme, who was 5-for-5 on PAT kicks, added a 37-yard field goal in the fourth.

Zetooney provided all the points Whitefish (5-3 overall, 5-2 in league) needed with his scoring runs: 58 yards in the first quarter and 10 yards in the second. The second erased a 10-7 Polson lead. Zetooney finished with 137 yards on 11 carries.

Gulick added 52 rushing yards on six carries, while Zetooney caught three passes for 33 yards. Thew had a team-high five catches for 67 yards; Eisenbarth had two for 41.

Polson (4-3, 4-3 in the Western A) got a 10-yard touchdown run from Holden Emerson and a Lucian Sawyer field goal.
