Whitefish boys and girls soccer power into semis, Bigfork girls fall to Laurel
HAMILTON — Charlize Ullrich scored the lone goal for Whitefish in the 72nd minute, but it was all the Bulldogs needed to defeat Hamilton 1-0 Saturday in the Class A soccer quarterfinals.
“Today was a close and windy match on turf but we were gaining momentum with a strong push from Sadie Olson and Delaney Smith,” Whitefish coach Kelly Ordway said. “We had the wind behind us in the second half and went in confident and focused. Hamilton has a strong attack and a solid goalkeeper.”
Bulldogs (9-3-1) goalkeeper Jackie Solem saved all six shots on target from the Broncs (9-3-1). Mia Faulk made four saves for Hamilton on five shots.
Whitefish will travel to Laurel for a semifinal on Saturday.

Whitefish boys 3, Lone Peak 1
BIG SKY — Preston McPherson scored the eventual winner in the 50th minute as Whitefish defeated Lone Peak 3-1 Saturday.
Kyler Jonson got the scoring going for the Bulldogs (10-2-1) just before halftime.
Out of the break McPherson doubled the advantage 10 minutes into the second half on an assist from Rowan Perkins.
Lone Peak (6-3-4) cut the deficit to one from the penalty spot, before Jack Oehlerich sealed the game in the 77th minute.
Whitefish travels to Stevensville on Saturday for a semifinal match.

Laurel used two goals from Abigail Sparks and one from Darby Boehler to defeat Bigfork 3-0 Saturday.
The Locomotives will host Whitefish in the semifinals on Saturday.
