Raptors tip Glacier boys in double-OT
BOZEMAN — The Glacier Wolfpack gave Eastern AA champion Gallatin a run in their quarterfinal soccer match Saturday, before the Raptors scored twice in the second overtime to claim a 2-0 win.
Max Graham and Ezekiel Leighton found the net for Gallatin, which takes a 13-1-1 record into a semifinal home match against Billings West Tuesday at 3 p.m.
“Played our best game when it mattered most,” Glacier coach Ryen Billiet said. “Strong defensive effort, very disciplined structure. We created some quality opportunities including a breakaway off the post in the second half.”
The Wolfpack were outshot 9-4 and finished the season 8-7.
“Outstanding leadership from our seniors, leaving an incredible legacy,” Billiet said. “Gallatin is very good and well-coached. This was an epic state game and we are grateful for the support from our community throughout the season.”
