Law roundup: Differences hugged out rather than punched out
Someone reportedly thought two men were about to start fighting when they were told to leave an apartment and began arguing outside. The men were hugging when Kalispell Police officers arrived, saying they were having an emotional night and had not fought at all.
After a breakup, a man allegedly thought a normal reaction would be to stake out his ex-girlfriend's apartment until she talked to him. He began walking around, shining a flashlight inside her apartment and was “punching holes in other people’s property."
Someone and their friend reportedly thought a short skinny man wearing a hoodie and possibly glasses was following them because he kept exiting and entering the stores they went to and approached their vehicle but did not directly come up to it.
A caller thought someone was absconding from probation and selling fentanyl and methamphetamine.
A man clearing out an evicted tenant’s apartment after she was arrested allegedly found and collected needles and prescription drugs with names scratched off the labels in addition to a letter “indicating illegal activity.” He told police he was bringing a bag of needles and a backpack containing more needles to the department for safekeeping/destruction. He was advised against touching the needles any further.
The driver of a white Tesla with Florida license plates reportedly pulled out in front of a woman, cutting her off. The Tesla driver then pulled up alongside her to call her derogatory names before heading northbound on U.S. 93.
A fight between two 15- or 16-year-old boys was reportedly being recorded on phones by a crowd of about 10 people in a pedestrian tunnel. The fight was verbal only and officers counseled at least one of the teens.
