Rendezvous bar opens in the Coop in Columbia Falls
Columbia Falls has a new bar and one that takes pains to support local businesses. The Rendezvous bar in The Coop on U.S. 2 in Columbia Falls features more than 11 local businesses, including several distilleries, breweries and others.
It even has locally made coffee from Uptown Hearth, noted manager Jackie Evans.
The bar has a wilderness theme, inspired by owner Kirk Gentry.
“I was an outfitter at Spotted Bear Ranch, I partnered at Sacred Waters Brewing with my daughter Jordan Gentry, and I am now owner of the Rendezvous. We like making a living serving and sharing Montana,” Gentry said.
The artwork on the walls features a mule scratching its back and other scenes from the Gentrys’ wilderness travels.
Veteran mixologist Meagan Schmoll designed the drink menu, which features fresh juices and local spirits, including a line of drinks called “sloshies,” a boozy, cold refreshing cocktail.
“Ass over Teakettle” is another drink, which features watermelon juice, lime, honey and tequila.
The Rendezvous is working on a partnership with North Fork Pizza, Evans said and will also feature local food trucks. It addition they will have live music every night from the likes of Borderline Lucid, Luke Lautaret and Brent Jameson, just to name a few. On Sundays they will have the NFL Sunday ticket along with beer specials.
It plans on being open all winter, Evans said.
Hours are Wednesday and Thursdays 4-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 10 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
