Engellant claims another title at Butte Invitational

FAIRMONT HOT SPRINGS — Sam Engellant finished as strong as he started at the Butte Invitational, shooting a second 71 in as many days to win at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Golf Course by three strokes.

Missoula Sentinel’s Gabe Sheppard finished in second with a 145 over the two days and the Spartans beat the Wolfpack by four strokes — 604 to 608 — to take the team title. Butte followed the Wolfpack in third with a total of 636, Flathead finished fourth at 662. 

Glacier’s Torren Murray finished tied for fifth with the Braves’ Dylan Morris with a score of 152, Jonah Wynne followed in seventh at 153. 

On the girls side, Butte’s Dylan Bartoletti shot a second round 91 to win the individual title at 176. 

Glacier’s Vaida Cole and Flathead’s Kyrie Gislason finished in a tie for fourth with 188 to lead the Kalispell schools. 

The Wolfpack brought home the team title with a total of 770, Belgrade finished second with 774. Flathead’s girls finished fifth with a total of 888.
