LIBBY — Not everybody stayed for 36 holes, but among those that did Polson’s Max Milton and Bigfork’s Keni Wade took home hardware from the Libby Invitational golf meet Friday.

Frenchtown made a one-day appearance, playing Thursday at Indian Springs. The Broncs played well — particularly Katie Lewis, who fired a 68 to open up a nine-shot lead.

When the Broncs stayed home Friday, that left Wade to take medalist honors with a two-day total of 161, including an 84 Friday at Cabinet View. Hamilton’s Cameron Burnett and Whitefish’s Stella Jaffe tied for second at 164, with Jaffe shooting Friday’s lowest girls score, an 81.

Only Hamilton and Bigfork fielded complete girls teams; the Broncs beat the Valkyries by 10 strokes.

Milton followed up his 68 on Thursday with a 72 at Cabinet View. He had four birdies and four bogeys and won boys medalist honors by six strokes over Corvallis teammates Brady Powell and Tate Jessop.

The Blue Devils won the boys team title with 619 strokes, followed by Whitefish at 656 and Polson at 682. Aiden Rickels led the Bulldogs with a two-day total of 154, good for fifth place.
